Thumbs up again qualify for the quarter finals, but no cup insight this year!

16 teams competed in this year's Toy Trust fund raiser and managed to raise a massive £2025 for the charity.

Team Thumbs Up went off to North London to compete in this 5 -a- side tournament. The scorching heat made it extremely difficult for the players but they never gave up -Well Done Team Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up did not get off to the best of starts by getting beaten in the first two matches! However after a hesitant start from Thumbs Up they managed to work the pitch and started getting into the swing of things! They managed to beat MK Donuts 5-1, with tremendous goals from Daniel Blackman and Niraj Patel, the team spirit was bought back in to camp!

Unfortunately during this fantastic battle of football Mitesh Patel was the first man down and out after injuring his knee. This left Thumbs Up with only one reserve creating more pressure.

Out of the five matches Thumbs Up played they managed to win a respectable two, bearing in mind they did have last year's winners in the group (Turner).

After earning a respectable 6 points in the group stages, Thumbs Up qualified for the plate quarter finals and were set to play against Toy News.

This was by far one of the best matches to watch, as it was only until the end Toy News managed to score a couple of goals allowing them to win 3 goals to 1. With superb saves by Neel Kavia and a great defence Thumbs Up left with their head held high!

Although Thumbs Up did not manage to win, they still left with great team spirit, and were happy to be a part of the unforgettable day - Once again Well Done to all the team players.

The goal scoring tally:

Daniel Blackman: 13
Niraj Patel: 9
Mitesh Patel and James Crossan: 2
